The Pinelanders Youth Soccer Club sponsors "The Olivia Zonis Courage Award"
Every so often a child comes along that displays courage above
and beyond
their years. In recognition of the courage Olivia showed facing this
terrible disease, The Board of the Pinelanders Youth Soccer Club located in
Howell, NJ, has named this award in her honor. The Pinelanders organization
and its members were a source of inspiration and unheralded sportsmanship
during Olivia's years playing with the club and during her treatment.
Because the Award is so special to the Zonis family and to the Board of
Pinelanders it is not awarded during the course of normal awards that the
club gives to teams, coaches and referees. Below is list of those who have
been honored with the Olivia Zonis Award for Courage:
Spring Season 2005 - Katy Stillman, Age 10
Fall Season 2003 - Victoria Bott, Age 10
